How Humid is Your Home?
Now, most people don’t think too hard about the humidity in their homes. Nor do they know how to monitor and adjust this important climate consideration until they run into disaster (most of the time these disasters are limited to a bad hair day, but if your humidity levels are too high for too long – you run the risk of mold growth!).
The absolute ideal humidity level is a personal choice, but most families are comfortable with 30-50% humidity levels.
Household Humidity
In order to determine your current household humidity levels – you will need a device called a Hygrometer. If you suspect your house is too humid, this $10 device that can save you thousands by alerting you sooner rather than later after mold takes over.
Handy-Dandy Humidity Appliances
Luckily there are simple ways to change your humidity. If you are dealing with levels above 50%, you can use a dehumidifier, if you are dealing with levels below 30%, find yourself a humidifier. Easy to remember!
